Passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft
on June 11th, 1946,
Raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason
on July 10th, 1946,
He received
his 50-year Jewel in 1996, the 55-year Bar in 2001, and the
60-year Bar in 2006.
Brother
Salter was born on April 20th, 1924 and was
raised to the Supreme Lodge Above on October 4th 2008 at the age
of 84 years.

William Maxwell 'Max' Salter
New Glasgow, formerly of Westville, passed away on Tuesday, November 4,
2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Howard and Florence
(Morrison) Salter. Max was an overseas veteran of the Second World War
and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34. After the war, he
worked in the music industry with Kelly Records and Columbia Records in
Ontario and California.
He returned to Pictou County eight years ago and was also a member of
the Western Star Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Lori
Paterson (John) Richmond Hill, Ont.; son Gary, Toronto; grandchildren,
Michael Wayne Paterson and Johnathan Maxwell Paterson; sister, Shirley
MacEwan, Westville. He was predeceased by sister, Ivy Stewart; brothers,
John, Bruce and Fernie Salter.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Eagles Funeral
Home, Westville. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow, will
conduct a service at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. His funeral
service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Eagles Funeral Chapel,
Westville. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
