John Ian "Jock" Somerville

SOMERVILLE, John Ian "Jock" - 82, Churchville, Pictou Co., passed away September 5, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Churchville, he was a son of the late William and Mary (McCue) Somerville. Ian was a lifelong resident of Churchville.

He worked on the C.N.R. for 43 years as an engineer. He was a member of Keith Masonic Lodge, Stellarton, and Union No. 30 IOOF, Springville.

Ian enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the garden. He is survived by his wife, Sally Marie; brother, Woodie (Ween), Moncton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Jimmy, and Eddie.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Keith Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at Angus Funeral  Home on Sunday Oct 7 at 6:45pm

Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or Churchville Cemetery.
